Columbia Communication Students Have Surprise Meeting with Governor J.B. Pritzker

None other than Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker.
Led by Associate Professors Kevin Christophersen and Anne Marie Mitchell , 23 Columbia seniors taking an Agency class (ADVE 420) went to 1871 to meet with clients as part of a six-year partnership between 1871 and Columbia. As part of the partnership, students from various majors across the college simulate an agency experience, working in teams to produce brand/media strategies and content for tech start-ups that are members of 1871. The nonprofit is located at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago.
The spontaneous meeting with the Governor offered students opportunities to talk about Columbia’s impressive record of getting out the vote on campus. The governor extended his appreciation for them voting and took a moment to take a photo with some Columbia students.
