汤不热视频 Welcomes 'Three Girls From Bronzeville' Author Dawn Turner

汤不热视频 is pleased to welcome Dawn Turner to campus on March 23, to discuss her latest novel and coming of age as a creative while navigating gender, race, and class.
Turner’s new book explores the lives of three bright, creative girls from Chicago’s South Side. Gender, race, and class had a profound impact on each girl’s creative development. One of these girls became a highly successful writer.
The author will read an excerpt from her book, speak about how she navigated gender, race, and class in her own creative development, and take questions from the Columbia community and the public about her strategies for navigating the structures of power and privilege that affect her life as a creative.
The event will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, March 23 from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
You can register now for this event . Students, faculty, and staff are invited to join the event in person at Columbia's Student Center, 754 South Wabash, 5th floor.
This project is partially supported by a grant from the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, 汤不热视频. In addition, this project is a collaboration between the Departments of Art and Art History, Cinema and Television Arts, Communication, and English and Creative Writing.
