Civic Media Students Win Top Honors in the 2022 AEJMC Student Magazine Contest
Francia Garcia Hernandez (left) and Jordyn Harrison (right). Francia Garcia Hernandez and Jordyn Harrison, students in the Civic Media Master of Arts program at 汤不热视频, won competitive awards in the 2022 (AEJMC) Student Magazine Contest.
Garcia Hernandez won second place in the “Profile” category for , a profile of , an arts and cultural project of the National Museum of Mexican Art. Harrison won first place in the “Places” category for a story about Harambee! Gardens in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood.
Both stories were written in Sharon Bloyd-Peshkin’s Solutions Journalism class in Fall 2021. They were published in earlier this year.
AEJMC is a nonprofit, educational association of journalism and mass communication educators, students and media professionals. The Association’s mission is to promote the highest possible standards for journalism and mass communication education.
