“Work at Hand, Michael K. Paxton� to Screen at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center
(PFAC) will present an After Dark Film and Artist Talk of , which will screen on Thursday, April 25. The documentary was created by by Cinema and Television Arts Associate Professor and alum Peter Hartel ’81 and film alum Libi Hake ’81. The film chronicles the life of artist Michael K. Paxton, who teaches in both the Design and Art and Art History departments at Columbia.
Work At Hand, Michael K. Paxton touches on the urgency and empathy of Paxton’s paintings, and how his working-class Appalachian roots inform his art more broadly. The screening will be followed by a conversation with Paxton himself. The event is free and open to the public. More information on the screening and conversation .
