Elio Leturia's 'No Literal' on Display at the Instituto Cervantes of Chicago Through February 22

Communication Associate Professor Elio Leturia’s graphic design exhibit No Literal is now on display at the . No Literal presents “through 12 posters different examples that explore, with humor, the correct use of accent marks, the letter ‘ñ’ (eñe,) the differences between gender when using articles, and the ‘danger’ when translating words phonetically.” The exhibition was previously housed at the Harold Washington Library in October as part of Hispanic Heritage Month.
On Feb. 22 the Fulbright Chicago Chapter is hosting a night of art and culture in conjunction with No Literal. Leturia will give an introductory lecture on the cultural aspects of language use and its connection to art. The event, which costs $8 and includes wine and light fare, is also a fundraiser for the Fulbright Chicago Chapter. RSVP for the closing event .
The Instituto Cervantes of Chicago is free and open to the public Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
