“Lamination Machine” is a multimedia exhibition exploring shifting consumer relationships and humanistic approaches to the value of everyday objects. Featuring work across a range of mediums, the show examines how lamination—both as a material process and metaphor—reveals what we preserve, discard, or overlook in daily life. Participating artists include Kristian Alvarado, Carley Brown, Jenna Davis, Lawrence Howell Hight-Goggin, Isabella Miller, Eliana Pinkert, Christian Romero, Nat Slavin, Regina Telinski, and Isa Woodard.

A triple bill of dark, genre-bending theatre featuring three student-directed productions: “The Maids” directed by Aurora Lowther, “Feathers and Teeth” directed by Kreechur Moghaddam, and “Death Trap” directed by Sam Surma. Together, they offer an evening of psychological tension, surreal humor, and sharply drawn characters.

This production of “Lear” by Young Jean Lee offers a surreal, darkly humorous exploration of how we grapple with the death of a parent. Directed by Maybelle Patterson, the performance pushes audiences to consider grief, identity, and the legacies we inherit through sharp dialogue and unsettling imagery.

This lecture features interdisciplinary artist and professor Joan Giroux, whose work explores empathy, mortality, and the body. Giroux will discuss her research as a 2025 Fulbright–British Library Eccles Institute Scholar and her recent collaboration with Alice Maude-Roxby on the exhibition “Channeling body < Image > viewer,” now on view at the Museum of Contemporary Photography.

South Chicago Dance Theatre makes its Dance Center debut with the world premiere of “Lamentations for Peace,” a new holiday production choreographed by Kia S. Smith and performed with live musical guests The Bourné Family. The piece blends movement and music to explore the emotional complexity of the season through memory, reflection, and connection.

Bruce Mau: “Design for All the Senses”

Join the School of Design’s Interior Architecture program for a special in-person presentation with world-renowned designer Bruce Mau. This session explores MauMC24, sensory design, and the science and culture behind how environments shape human experience. The Latin Ensemble: Showcase in Concert
