Biography
kClare McKellaston is an Assistant Professor of Instruction with the School of Theatre and Dance.鈥嬄燞er Costume Design work includes Don't Quit Your DayDream, The Second City's Best Kept Secret, Reality Detox聽(Second City), Escape to Margaritaville, Cats, The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Music Theatre Works) In Every Generation (Victory Gardens), Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus, Who鈥檚 Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Broken Glass, Scarcity, The Cripple of Inishmaan (Redtwist)GlassHeart,听Peyton Place, At Home At the Zoo, The Playboy of the Western World (City Lit), , Sycamore, The Old Friends (Raven Theatre), Spamalot, Young Frankenstein, The Last Five Years, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (Metropolis).
She was previously an Adjunct Faculty member and the Costume Shop Manager at Dominican University, where she designed Waiting for Godot, Songs for A New World,听and聽The Addams Family Musical. She has mentored and guided student designers, as well as serving as a member of portfolio review panels for senior students in the Fashion and Theatre Department.聽
鈥婭n November 2019, kClare joined the team of artists and creators at Lookingglass Theatre Company as their Costume Shop Manager. This job was cut short by the Covid-19 Pandemic. This provided a pivot--in 2021, she joined the first season filming of Apple TV's The Shining Girls starring Elizabeth Moss, Jamie Bell, Wagner Moura, and Phillipa Soo, and at the same time became a proud member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 769. She has worked as a Set Costumer and Background Costumer, Stylist, and Backstage Dresser for a number of productions, including Mariah Carey's Christmas Tour, Dark Matter, The Lion King,听The Prom, the Dancing with the Stars Tour,听Justified: City Primeval, and聽We Grown Now ().
